Film students and young professionals can begin their preparations as the traditional international cinema workshop “Summer Media Studio” was announced to be held this summer. For the seventeenth time young cinema professionals and university students from all over the Globe are welcome to meet at the Lithuanian seaside town of Nida and open discussion about film editing philosophy. Participants registration already started and will least until 25th of May, application form available at www.summermediastudio.lt.

Every year the “Summer Media Studio” focuses on a different theme of cinema or film related professions. This year’s Studio theme is film editing philosophy. “Every time we try to look from the different perspective and touch the various stages of film production. This year it’s time to focus on the post-production of both video and audio. Thus the theme of the workshop is film editing philosophy. It is a very ambitious title as it means we will teach people not only to press the buttons but also to constantly think what is behind the editing and post-production in film. Experienced film professionals will help the participants to reveal the secrets of editing. This year instead of having the camp at our usual location in Juodkrantė, we will be moving to a new place in a nearby town of Nida. Another update for the Studio is that now it is open not only for the students as before but also for the young professionals – people who are already working in the cinema industry”,- said the head of the workshop, Inesa Kurklietytė.

The organizer of “Summer Media Studio” is Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. The project is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, Ministry of Science and Ministry of Education.
