Erasmus+ BIP „Summer Media Studio“ (SMS) is a collaboration platform for students and young professionals in the audiovisual arts industry. The platform helps the participants gain international contacts, improve their professional skills, face and analyze the changes in the industry, and create opportunities for future artistic initiatives. The main SMS event—a two-week residential workshop—will take place in Neringa, Lithuania, for the 26th time this year. Here, the participants will have the possibility to explore the unique locations of the Curonian Spit and make seven short films.
This year, the focus of the workshop is "Acting in Film". Internationally recognized mentors will guide participants through theoretical lectures and practical workshops, helping them master on-screen performance, emotional depth, character embodiment, and working with the camera. Special attention will be given to improvisation, scene analysis, and collaboration with directors and cinematographers.
During the workshop, participants will take part in casting sessions, rehearsals, and real film shoots, allowing them to apply newly gained knowledge in a professional environment. Teams will consist of actors, directors, cinematographers, and sound designers, ensuring a dynamic and immersive experience. Editors and composers are also welcome to join as integral members of the creative process.
Throughout pre-production, production, and post-production, mentors and industry professionals will provide valuable insights and technical consultations. The workshop will culminate in a public screening of the films created during the program, followed by an awards ceremony. Participants will also receive guidance on festival applications and film industry networking opportunities, encouraging them to showcase their work on an international scale.
